I have been thrilled with the heft and quality of the Le Creuset poterie line - and this is no exception. After years of trial and error I have found this to be the perfect pan for my lasagna. I like to make BIG batches of lasagna, and this pan lets me feed an army. The color and finish are flawless and that famous Le Creuset non-stick ability is in full force here. Even after baking a big lasagna in it, washing this thing by hand is a piece of cake!

So, to sum up: Its large, it looks great, it cooks evenly, and it is very easy to clean after use. All of that for a pretty good price too! Highly recommended!

Columbian's technology for applying porcelain creates a durable, chip resistant product that will last most families a lifetime.The glass-like surface does not interact with or alter the taste of food, and even the most stubborn foods clean up easily. I have owned and used three of these for the last year or so. I use them frequently for roasting vegetables, etc.for my family of four and our occasional guests. I have been disappointed in the nonstick surface and the inability to clean it well when the food is burnt on. (The best way to roast veggies is at a fairly high heat and I try to get away with just a small amount of olive oil.) So I guess I have abused them but there is no easy way to clean the nonstick finish . Consequently, I amseeking a reasonably priced Stainless steel pan. I have loved the size as they accomodate a good amount of food at once. So while they served my need for a large size pan for cooking, they do not clean well, the nonstick finish is so terrible looking right now and I assume unsafe to continue using. Wish they made these in Stainless or even high quality aluminum as I would be able to clean well. Recommend for only occasional use.

I inherited the Magnalite collection from my mother and grandmother, and after 50+ years of hard use, really hard use, I only recently managed to warp the bottom of the skillet on my new Viking (flamethrower) gas stove when I set the heat too high.But I'm still using the skillet!This super heavy duty set cooks the most evenly and cleans up the easiest of any cookware out there.I despise non-stick interiors, and these gratefully have none, and with use are seasoned so well they never stick.I will cheerfully buy new sets for my grandkids and hopefully they will still be using theirs in 50+ years as well.Rice is perfect, browing meats & rue gravy is easy, roasts and soups cook evenly without scortching, and cleanup is fast & easy with a little steel wool.The 11 inch skillet size is perfect for fried chicken and browning meats of all types.Best cookware ever made, at a real bargain of a price!!

These "made in China" casseroles are pretty, and similar to Le Creuset in appearance, enamel over cast iron,however people are noticing the enamel does not stand up well to heat, and it cracks. (See reviews on "Rachael Ray 3-1/2-Quart Cast-Iron Covered Round Casserole, Blue", and talk with peoplewho handle returns at your dept. store.)

Additionally, the casserole has a cheap phenolic (plastic) handle on the top cover, which the manual says are "oven safe" ONLY up to 350 F temperature. This makes no sense, when recipes may call for 350-400 degree temperatures! A 350 degree handle is just as hot to the touch, be it made of cheap plastic or cast iron. Batali's handles are good to 500 degrees, Le Creuset's handles are good to 450 degrees, Rachael's cheap plastic handle will be melted slime, long before then at just 350 degrees!

Quite a few bakers know that oven temps may vary from 50-75 degrees from what is "set", at times! While using plastic handles saves a small expense for Rachael, it may limit oven temp setting to 300-325 for some, to put in a margin of safety, to avoid lid handle meltdown. It just gives one more thing to worry about while cooking-to not let the handle melt into a puddle of goo.

Rachael, get better quality control with the next batch, and please give matching cast iron handles instead of cheap plastic, and make it easy on customers!

Open your box immediately to check for damage! I was excited about having a gorgeous blue enamel covered cast iron lasagna pan for an upcoming group dinner. What a lovely way to present the main course. Unfortunately, the pan arrived with a huge chip in the interior white enamel on an upper corner and I had to return it to amazon. Then came the endless e-mails about whether to reship or refund. I kept telling them I wanted to try again...receive an intact pan. Amazon simply couldn't understand that request and, after several weeks, refunded the money. I ended up buying a plain ole stainless steel lasagna pan instead. At least it can't chip!

For most Americans who are not familiar with table top cooking (at the dinner table), Asians usually will make sukiyaki, shabu shabu, hotpot, grilled Korean beef ribs, etc etc on the dinner table.Especially during the winter. Great at potlucks, or any gathering.It's really fun and takes the stress off of the hostess on "what to cook", because you just need to prep meat, veggies to cook, and dipping sauces.

The induction plate will work with only stainless steel, cast iron, or any other pots and pans that's specifially designed for induction.

The best thing is, it is ONLY hot inside the "circle", while the outer edges are cold to touch, so no burning fingers!Plus, the controls make it very easy to change the temperature. It is electrical, so you don't have to worry about burning alcohol, or butane or such at the table.MUCH more safe.

My family can't live without one. I probably cook with it just about every day in winter.

Two important notes: do NOT put a hot pan on a cold induction plate (or vice versa).It damages the coils, and the ceramic.
Hot pan goes on a hot plate; cold pan goes on a cold plate. Once you are done with the cooking, turn it off the heat.Let it cool down, and then you can wipe the surface with a lightly damp towel . I've cleaned mine with a paper towel lightly misted with 409. Just make sure you don't let anything drips down into the vents (where it can come into contact with the inside).

Also, there are vents in the induction plate, and MAKE SURE there are no liquids dripping over it. (It will be like pouring water onto a frayed electrical cord -- bam, plate dies instantly). At that point, it's dead.

I really wish that people would not leave comments on cookware that they have had for less than a year.Of course when it's new, it's great.However, please note that the reviewers who have had theirs for more than a year are telling you - it DOES scratch - easily.This is a very expensive set for nonstick.I took very good care of mine because it was so expensive, I always handwashed my cookware and did not abuse it.But it still scratched after 3 months.Fortunately the company that I bought it from stood behind it and took it back, because Swiss Diamond's warranty is awful!Look at some of these reviews and you'll see that people who had to deal with the company are saying that Swiss Diamond keeps claiming "abuse".How convenient and shady of the company. The nonstick was great and it cooked nicely, but when mine scratched, I contacted the company and was given, in an email, "this warranty does not cover stains, discoloration, scratch marks, or dents".HUH???What DOES it cover then?And once a pan is scratched it's ruined.So since it scratched so easily and the company does not stand behind their warranty, I decided to return the entire set rather than get stuck with a $500 set that will be just like any other nonstick set within a few years.Don't listen to reviewers who have only had theirs a short while - look at the reviewers who have had theirs for awhile or have had to deal with the company.They are all saying the same thing - it DOES scratch, get pits, and stains and the company does not stand behind it.

I had a Townecraft home demonstation and thought it was wonderful.The salesman was great and really made me excited.Then came the price.I've bought cars for less than that!I started looking around for that same brand on auction sites and found it 1/2 the price, but still very expensive.I went to the waterless cookware site and decided to give Maxam 9 a shot.It took 2 months to get, but the pans are good heavy quality, very easy to clean, and keep the food moist.Waterless cooking, however, takes patience to get right and you are likely to burn some meals if you stick to the time guidelines in the book.I've had them for about two monts now and finally got rid of all of the old teflon and rusty pans...they aren't coming back.I've cooked with the Townecraft pans before and you aren't going to see enough of a difference to warrant 6-8 times the price.Maxam 9 (World's Finest) is almost as good and won't kill your budget.As Zig Ziglar says "It's easier to justify cost once, than apologize for quality forever"The price is more than what you are going to pay in WalMart, but the cost over a lifetime will be much, much lower because you won't buy pans again.

Really beautiful on the stove. The shining, sloping sides add a very elegant and sophisticated air. Extremely quick and even heating. Handles stay cool. Just all around a great cookset! We almost didnt get it for 2 concerns: we were concerned the handles would get too hot (they stay cool!) and difficult cleaning ..we were looking for non-stick (these still clean quick and easy with a swipe of a brillo pad). We've since realized that non-stick would wear out in 5-7 years but without it...these should last almost forever!Great purchase.

You may have seen sheets like these on cooking shows or at fancy stores under the Silpat name selling for huge sums of money and were discouraged.Well, let me end any confusion and tell you that these work the same way!They are like having permanent non-stick surfaces for baking, roasting, and even candy making.You may be a bit scared to put this plastic looking sheet into the oven at first, but don't worry, as your food would be charred before it would ever melt.

You may have been very frustrated by candy making in the past because the hot sugar would stick to anything that wasn't caked in non-stick spray.Fear no more, as this slippery wonder is a great working surface for kneading it while it's still hot or after it has cooled.If you want to keep it malleable for a longer period of time, set up a small heat lamp over the work surface.

What about cookies?I was shocked with how well they baked.Needless to say, nothing sticks (I was even able to just pick the sheet up and slide them onto a plate), but the surface also helped for even heating of the bottoms in our wonky oven that normally burns them.This was the most even browning I've ever seen, and required less effort than normal.It makes me much less nervous about putting baked goods into the oven.The downside is that cookies that rely on an ungreased cookie sheet to maintain proper form will spread on these sheets in a manner similar to a baking sheet sprayed with Pam.Fortunately, those cookies are typically laden with butter and do not stick anyway.

A bonus feature is that you can place this on a cookie sheet underneath a pie that might boil over in the oven.This can save hours of cleanup for those messy pastries.

Then comes the cleaning of the mat.All you do is rinse it with warm soapy water, as I've never seen anything actually stuck to it.It can tend to feel a bit slimy, but that's just the nature of the material.Storage is very convenient as well, as you can roll it up and even stick it in your silverware drawer!

I really have no reason not to recommend this product.It saves time, is cheaper than less effective sprays, and is convenient.I wouldn't cook without one... or two.

I have been looking for a stainless wok for sometime.I did not want a non stick finish as when heated too hot they produce fumes that can be toxic to pet birds.

I purchased this Cusinart Stainless 14 inch stir fry.It is a great pan.It is good looking, large so you can cook a lot of food in it.It is extremely easy to clean.It comes with a nice glass lid.It is also light weight. I own the set of Cuisnart Stainless Cookware that I bought last year on Amazon.I am very happy with the set.This wok pan is an excellent value, you simply will not find a good quality wok at this price.Buy It!!

Yeah, yeah, it's expensive. Sure, sure, you could get a whole set of substandard pans. But you can't 'go cheap' on a saute pan. If you do, you'll burn stuff, and generally be an unhappy cook, so that's why you need a nice heavy one. I've got loads of cookware, but this is the most used item in my kitchen. Along with a good chef's knife and one saucepan, and maybe one to boil pasta, you'd be set. All Clad is a superior cookware to other brands, and I've tried or tested all of them. My mom got this as a wedding present in the early 1940's.She was never a good cook, so I have been using it since the '60's.I stole some of her pieces when I married, but returned them when I found them for sale again.I purchased my first piece, a chicken frier, for about $25.00 in 1970, which was a huge price back then, and couldn't wait to get my hands on more.I bought a starter set of 8 pieces a few years later when I finally saw it again, and it forms the basis of my extensive cookware collection.I have been called the "Greatest cooker on earth" by many men, and I attribute some of the praise to this cookware.

This is heavy cast aluminum, with the same heat dispersal properties of cast iron, except that it can be washed and scrubbed.I polish mine from time to time, and it still looks new! It can be placed in the dishwasher, unlike cast iron.The cooking qualities are exceptional.Heat is disbursed over the entire bottom and sides of the pans, allowing a lower heat setting, and giving a more consistent heat to all the food within.There are no hot spots, which scorch the food and cause uneven browning or burning.The lids are heavy enough to seal the steam in the pots, which forms a mini-pressure cooker, cutting down on the cooking time a bit.They will not warp if overheated, which is important if you use electric heat.I mean, who hasn't lost track of time and let a pot burn now and then?It happens in a busy kitchen.But this isn't a catastrophe as it would be with cheaper cookware.I have added a few smaller pots as my family size has been reduced, but I cannnot conceive why anyone would want some of this designer/celebrity cookware with the raised rings that could never be scrubbed clean in a thousand hours!Just be sure you season the cookware in a slow oven first. (Wipe with cooking oil inside, including the lids, and bake all of it in a 225 degree oven for about 8 hours.)Reseason as necessary.Buy as much of it as you can afford, and add to it as the time and money allow.I use the heavy cast aluminum teflon skillets, and have gone through dozens of sets of those!YOu can't beat the Magnalite for delicate sauces, rice, and stews, or anything fried!

I bought this pan off of Amazon through Chef's Resource a few weeks ago.I have made several things in it and all have turned out wonderfully.Once again, a great product from Le Creuset!
The only caveatI have is that this pan is not stoneware as described.I assumed this when I saw it on Amazon due to the hefty price. I contacted Amazon.com by phone and found them to be polite, but not too helpful.I later contacted Chef's Resource, who was offering the pan on Amazon at the time, and they assured me that the pan was indeed cast iron. I hope that Amazon will make the correction in the title and description of this product.I would not pay this price for stoneware, but the cast iron is well worth it!
