I got this product to expand my oven space for holiday meals, but unfortunately it does not fit in a standard oven alongside a standard size roasting pan, so I wound up having to let the meats sit while the sides baked. Unless you have an unusually large oven I would not get this product.

I have been thrilled with the heft and quality of the Le Creuset poterie line - and this is no exception. After years of trial and error I have found this to be the perfect pan for my lasagna. I like to make BIG batches of lasagna, and this pan lets me feed an army. The color and finish are flawless and that famous Le Creuset non-stick ability is in full force here. Even after baking a big lasagna in it, washing this thing by hand is a piece of cake!

So, to sum up: Its large, it looks great, it cooks evenly, and it is very easy to clean after use. All of that for a pretty good price too! Highly recommended!

Have had magnalite for about 20 years.I also own all types of All Clad stainless.For some reason, when it comes to cooking big pots of stews, chicken and dumplings, and chili, I always get out the 14 quart magnalite.I hope they have not changed the quality as the over review states. The roaster is also fantastic.I could never fry eggs or chicken in the fry pans however, they seem to want to stick.I always had very good luck with receipes that have a good amount of liquid called for and will always use them for fudge because the bottom is heavy, and roasters because the roast comes out super.I have to have my magnalite lined up by my all clad!!!!

Just cut the top off of the garlic and dab it with olive oil and black pepper, then put it in this thing (after soaking it in water for a minute) and put in the oven for half an hour, garlic comes out creamy and spreadable like butter with a great roasted flavor that you can't get out of prepackaged roasted garlic. Just spread it straight onto bread and bake for garlic bread, or add the roasted garlic to soup for a great flavor you can't get any other way.

We were reluctant to spend the money on this french oven but it was worth every penny.It heats up evenly and browns meat beautifully.We use this 5qt. french oven to make great one pot meals (4 servings).Just last night we made braised short ribs that were mouthwatering.We often use this pan on the stove for browning or searing and then transfer the dish to the oven for further cooking.Other times we use it for slow cooking on the stove.Clean up with the pan is super easy.Everything just wipes right out.The pan is really heavy but that's what makes it cook so well.My wife used to hate to cook (I used to be the only cooking enthusiast in the family) but she loves this french oven because all her recipes come out tasting so good.

You may have seen sheets like these on cooking shows or at fancy stores under the Silpat name selling for huge sums of money and were discouraged.Well, let me end any confusion and tell you that these work the same way!They are like having permanent non-stick surfaces for baking, roasting, and even candy making.You may be a bit scared to put this plastic looking sheet into the oven at first, but don't worry, as your food would be charred before it would ever melt.

You may have been very frustrated by candy making in the past because the hot sugar would stick to anything that wasn't caked in non-stick spray.Fear no more, as this slippery wonder is a great working surface for kneading it while it's still hot or after it has cooled.If you want to keep it malleable for a longer period of time, set up a small heat lamp over the work surface.

What about cookies?I was shocked with how well they baked.Needless to say, nothing sticks (I was even able to just pick the sheet up and slide them onto a plate), but the surface also helped for even heating of the bottoms in our wonky oven that normally burns them.This was the most even browning I've ever seen, and required less effort than normal.It makes me much less nervous about putting baked goods into the oven.The downside is that cookies that rely on an ungreased cookie sheet to maintain proper form will spread on these sheets in a manner similar to a baking sheet sprayed with Pam.Fortunately, those cookies are typically laden with butter and do not stick anyway.

A bonus feature is that you can place this on a cookie sheet underneath a pie that might boil over in the oven.This can save hours of cleanup for those messy pastries.

Then comes the cleaning of the mat.All you do is rinse it with warm soapy water, as I've never seen anything actually stuck to it.It can tend to feel a bit slimy, but that's just the nature of the material.Storage is very convenient as well, as you can roll it up and even stick it in your silverware drawer!

I really have no reason not to recommend this product.It saves time, is cheaper than less effective sprays, and is convenient.I wouldn't cook without one... or two.

When you bake bread using only a sourdough starter you get a dough that is more relaxed than dough made with commercial yeast, it wants to rise out as well as up.This pan is the best I have found for baking with sourdough because it not only supports the sides of the dough (so it rises up and not over the sides of the pan) but gives it a fabulous crust.
To prevent sticking you will have to *really* grease both the top and bottom the first several times you use it, also genrously sprinkle the the bottom with cornmeal.After the pan is seasoned a light greasing will do, and once it is *well* seasoned you often won't have to grease it at all.I always lightly sprinkle the bottom with cornmeal though.
One important thing to remember is that you can't wash this with soap, the stoneware will absob it and make your bread taste funny.Most of the time all you need to do is dust the cornmeal out, but every now and then (and if something sticks) you can soak it in plain hot water.

Yeah, yeah, it's expensive. Sure, sure, you could get a whole set of substandard pans. But you can't 'go cheap' on a saute pan. If you do, you'll burn stuff, and generally be an unhappy cook, so that's why you need a nice heavy one. I've got loads of cookware, but this is the most used item in my kitchen. Along with a good chef's knife and one saucepan, and maybe one to boil pasta, you'd be set. All Clad is a superior cookware to other brands, and I've tried or tested all of them. In our current economy why heat up the big Oven and the kitchen
when this small but efficient oven can do everything the big stove
can , only faster. I have learned to buy the small pizza's to fit , cooked frozen pork roast to perfection , bake potatoes and even made golden brown pies. I love it !

I use my Big Convection Kitchen Stove to store pots and pans and
who needs to spend money on electric bills to turn the self clean on when
the base of my 1.2 Liter turbo oven can go directly into the dishwasher or just wipes clean with a damp rag.

I "AIR FRY"potato steak fries crisp with a little cooking spray
in this wonderful machine.The only drawback would be that the manufacture failed to include a cooking chart . I had one left over from my Jet-stream oven or Flavor-wave oven that was mostly made of plastic parts. Both ovens worked well but I was always sending for costly replacement pieces.This OVEN being made of glass as heavy as a large mixing bowl should last for years.

My mom got this as a wedding present in the early 1940's.She was never a good cook, so I have been using it since the '60's.I stole some of her pieces when I married, but returned them when I found them for sale again.I purchased my first piece, a chicken frier, for about $25.00 in 1970, which was a huge price back then, and couldn't wait to get my hands on more.I bought a starter set of 8 pieces a few years later when I finally saw it again, and it forms the basis of my extensive cookware collection.I have been called the "Greatest cooker on earth" by many men, and I attribute some of the praise to this cookware.

This is heavy cast aluminum, with the same heat dispersal properties of cast iron, except that it can be washed and scrubbed.I polish mine from time to time, and it still looks new! It can be placed in the dishwasher, unlike cast iron.The cooking qualities are exceptional.Heat is disbursed over the entire bottom and sides of the pans, allowing a lower heat setting, and giving a more consistent heat to all the food within.There are no hot spots, which scorch the food and cause uneven browning or burning.The lids are heavy enough to seal the steam in the pots, which forms a mini-pressure cooker, cutting down on the cooking time a bit.They will not warp if overheated, which is important if you use electric heat.I mean, who hasn't lost track of time and let a pot burn now and then?It happens in a busy kitchen.But this isn't a catastrophe as it would be with cheaper cookware.I have added a few smaller pots as my family size has been reduced, but I cannnot conceive why anyone would want some of this designer/celebrity cookware with the raised rings that could never be scrubbed clean in a thousand hours!Just be sure you season the cookware in a slow oven first. (Wipe with cooking oil inside, including the lids, and bake all of it in a 225 degree oven for about 8 hours.)Reseason as necessary.Buy as much of it as you can afford, and add to it as the time and money allow.I use the heavy cast aluminum teflon skillets, and have gone through dozens of sets of those!YOu can't beat the Magnalite for delicate sauces, rice, and stews, or anything fried!

Just want to let you all know that the lid of this 4-1/2 quart pan also fits the 9-1/2" inch Tarte Tatin/Anniversary pan ...

In addition to buying this 4-1/2" round oven, I wanted to buy a small Buffet Casserole (the 2-quart size) to cook chicken & rice or pork chops when it's just my husband and myself, but I decided to buy the Tarte Tatin/"Anniversary" pan (same pan, two different names) instead for two reasons:

1) One less lid in the cupboard
2) I thought the shape of the anniversary pan's flat bottom would be a little bit more useful. I can make Tarte Tatin of course, but also regular cakes (come out delicious, just line this pan with parchment paper -- the cake comes out so perfect you may throw away your cake pans to make space for more Le Creuset cookware, lol), quiche, one pot breakfasts, etc.

Because the lid of this 4-1/2" oven fits on top of the anniversary pan, I can also use that anniversary pan to cook dishes with rice in them, poach chicken breasts, etc.

Of course, read all the other reviews about this 4-1/2 quart size pan. It's the perfect size pan to cook meals for 6 people.

FYI: If you are trying to decide what size to buy, just to let you know Le Creuset recommends that you choose a pan size where the contents of what you are trying to cook fills the pan at least 50%, if not three-quarters of the way full to the top, to make the most of the radiant heat qualities of cast iron (with this cast iron pan, the heat not only travels through the bottom of the pan, but also up the sides -- very different from your usual stainless steal or aluminum pan, which is why you use lower heat with these pans than with stainless steel pans).

If you use too large of a pan, your ingredients may dry out before they are cooked all the way through. Also, if you are cooking rice, if there is too much space at the top (if your pan is only 25 percent full), you may not get enough steam pressure to cook the rice all the way through.

If this is your first Le Creuset purchase, buy the size of pan you'll use most of the time, not the size you use when you cook for company. These pans are so addictive, you'll can always buy the bigger size later for specialty recipes.

This 4-1/2 quart is perfect for cooking for 3 to 6 people.

The 3-1/2 quart is perfect for 2 to 4 people.

The 2-1/2 quart is good for 1 or 2 people, or rice for 4 people.

We purchased our first Haier 1700 at Brandsmart for $137.00 three years ago along with an extended warranty. After one year we turned it in for a replacement because the temp. was unstable. The second one lasted two years before the door broke, and the convection fan stopped. I love the price and the size. It accomodates a 1/2 size baking pan. It's great for about a year or two at most.

I do not own this product, but from the picture, I don't think this would work if you are a left-handed person (like me). You could perhaps turn the pepper instead of the corer, but it is definitely something to consider. UPDATE: Since two other reviewers comments, it may be that it works quite well for lefties. A.fter researching that particular appliance the reviews were'nt that great on the otheritem because people said that the container was made of plastic and was either cracked upon arrival or cracked after a few months. Needless to say she was very disappointed. i saw an infomercial about the superwave oven and went online to research it. I ordered it that night while my wife was sleep. Let me tell you, it is WONDERFUL!!!!! The container is made of glass, it's quite, cook the meals to perfection. I can't tell you how happy my wife was. She said and i quote "baby- you're the man". Now I'm even coming up with recipes.
