(More customer reviews)These are excellent gloves for both the grill and fireplace.They are long (18"), so they cover the entire forearm, and they are heavy duty (thick leather).Also, they are gloves, not mitts, and that makes a huge difference.Mittens give you no ability to grip or pick up items; gloves give you all the flexibility of, well, gloves!

My husband has used these everyday for both grilling duties and stocking his fireplace.
He is super picky about quality, and these meet his exacting standards.

The two 1-star reviews here are not based on this product, but rather on the manufacturer and the shipper.I hope those customers followed up, got their products, and then review the actual gloves.

The "Keep Warm" setting should be labeled "Overcook".Not only did it keep it warm, but it kept it so hot that the contents overcooked.The Keep Warm setting is extremely hot, nearly as hot as the High setting.

I'm looking forward to using this several times a week.I can cut food into smaller pieces and toss them into the basket to cook, allowing them to cook faster and saving fuel (and making dinner happen faster!)But first I've got to figure out how to keep the top in place.

The only caveatI have is that this pan is not stoneware as described.I assumed this when I saw it on Amazon due to the hefty price. I contacted Amazon.com by phone and found them to be polite, but not too helpful.I later contacted Chef's Resource, who was offering the pan on Amazon at the time, and they assured me that the pan was indeed cast iron. I hope that Amazon will make the correction in the title and description of this product.I would not pay this price for stoneware, but the cast iron is well worth it!

(More customer reviews)Thinking this was just a slightly smaller size than the "compact" model, I ordered it from Amazon before it was available at the local stores I frequent.I was mislead by the product description and disappointed to find this petite model only has a one pound capacity, and expects everything to be cooked inside the metal basket. (The compact model on the other hand is rated with a ten pound capacity, can hold things on the spit, without a "basket", and can use the self-turning kabob rods, which are sometimes included in a package and sometimes sold separately.)

There were no self turning rods listed in manual of what is packed inside, or available from the manufacturer as an option, or on the box artwork, but the one pound capacity was clearly stated in the manual.I'm afraid I could easily overfill the basket over the weight limit. A pre-packaged marinated turkey breast tenderloin for example is 30oz or about two pounds...a frozen package of 4 beef or chicken kabobs is 24oz, about a pound and a half.

I also figure the basket might be more difficult to clean than I wanted if I stuck the kabobs in there and definitely not as interesting to watch as self turning ones would have been...

Oneida Large Non-stick Roasting Pan with Rack Review

(More customer reviews)This is a rather large pan with removable nonstick rack that will hold all but the biggest birds. The interior nonstick surface cleans easily, but getting it in your sink (or dishwasher) can be a challenge. The plain aluminum exterior scratches if you so much as look at it, and mine came apparently pre-loved with a hard surface. In practice however one pan works as well as another. The rack holds food securely, doesn't stick to the food, fits well, and the entire contraption will fit into even smallish ovens if need be. The handles are secure and the pan cools quickly (thanks to its aluminum construction). Overall not bad, just $10 more than it should be.

(More customer reviews)It's clear from the condition of the Brazier that was shipped to me that Emile Henry has sloppy quality control. The cooking surface had obviously defective glazing, with small pebbles creating sharp bumps that will break off when cooking to expose the clay underneath.

This is the kind of thing you need to buy from a shop where you can check the quality before you leave the store. Now Amazon is telling me that I won't be able to get a replacement for a month. Great.

The price at Amazon is not discounted at all, so just go to Williams Sonoma or Sur La Table or another local dealer if you want Emile Henry cookware.

The Brazier itself it lighter than Le Creuset, which is a big advantage. And clay retains heat for very even cooking. It's a good idea with bad quality control.

Needless to say she was very disappointed. i saw an infomercial about the superwave oven and went online to research it. I ordered it that night while my wife was sleep. Let me tell you, it is WONDERFUL!!!!! The container is made of glass, it's quite, cook the meals to perfection. I can't tell you how happy my wife was. She said and i quote "baby- you're the man". Now I'm even coming up with recipes.

(More customer reviews)I have seriously burned my left hand when using this Roaster (my doctor diagnosed my condition as a second degree burn). The roaster's lid has no handle at its top; therefore, the only way to open it is by raising it from the sides. This way it is impossible to protect one's hands against the steam. Large amount of steam accumulates in the roaster during cooking, because the lid is heavy and no steam gets out of the roaster during the cooking process. This is good for cooking but bad for your hands. This defect of the roaster's construction makes it extremely dangerous for you. In the Scanpan user's manual for the roaster there is no warning about this problem and no suggestion how to open the roaster without get burned.

(More customer reviews)Well, I surely gave it a fair try:popped 3 batches of various sizes, closely following all directions, using fresh popping corn from two separate packages.Results:

* Noticeable cooked plastic odor and taste in the popped corn - yuck.
(... when I returned it to my local retailer, the clerk told me he had noticed the same problem in their sample...)

* You like your popcorn fluffly and light?All three batches were denser and heavier than standard popped corn.

* Far too many uncooked kernels.

* Poor build quality:the base had a loose part rattling inside that sounded like a broken piece.

*Seating the hotplate into the base takes some getting used to.At first I thought I had it seated properly and the rotor moved, but the plate refused to heat, requiring that I reseat it repeatedly and very precisely to get the cooking element to connect properly.

It's a shame.I had high hopes for this product (I trust and respect the Cuisinart name - I have one of their food processors).I liked that it had an anodized heating surface - believing that should make it very durable.Results were terrible though.
